West Allis Police Finally Arrest Sumother Duud
WEST ALLIS- West Allis Police announced on Tuesday that they have apprehended Sumother Duud, a highly sought-after fugitive in southeastern Wisconsin. Duud, 32, is well-known to law enforcement and, according to Detective Orville Sadowsky, Duud is thought to be responsible for as many as eighty-percent of all crimes committed in Milwaukee County. According to official sources, Duud was standing on the sidewalk on National Avenue when a patrol officer recognized him, and arrested Duud without incident.
In a prepared statement, Detective Sadowsky said, "I cannot tell you how many witnesses I have interviewed throughout the years who, when asked, for example, who fired the shots, the answer was always Sumother Duud." Police interrogation of Duud continued throughout the night. Police are hopeful that interrogation of Duud will allow police to solve numerous cold cases. Sources inside the police department, though, have told The Jensen Defense off the record that Duud is steadfastly claiming that he is not guilty. According to Duud, he was almost always at his fiance's apartment when the crimes were committed.
Detective Sadowsky told reporters that what has hampered the apprehension of Duud is that he is, apparently, a master of disguise. Witnesses have described Sumother Duud as being of various races, ages, and body types. During interviews, witnesses have viewed mug shots, and the witnesses frequently point to a picture and inform police that, "This is Duud." However, no witnesses have ever identified the same picture. Police speculate that Duud maintains a large collection of disguises that he uses as needed. A search warrant is being sought for Duud's apartment.
As a side note, the police were not the only ones looking for Duud. Upon learning of Duud's capture, Dontrell Washington, of Milwaukee, told The Jensen Defense, "He's lucky the police caught him before I did. My cousin Percy told me that he saw my girlfriend dancing with Sumother Duud at the club on Friday night."
The Milwaukee County District Attorney expects to be reviewing charges against Duud by the end of the week.
